Terms & Conditions for Selcouth Artistry Painting Classes
THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE: All students in Selcouth Artistry's painting classes reserve the right to physical and psychological safety. Inappropriate behaviors such as ‘putting others down’, ‘cheap shots’, unreasonable teasing, name-calling, excluding others on purpose, racist, sexist, homophobic behaviors or language take away someone’s right to feel safe and will not be tolerated. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.
THE RIGHT TO LEARN: Students have a right to learn without undue, unreasonable, and unfair distractions and diversions from others. Students also have a right to learn in a learning environment where their teacher does not create unnecessary anxiety or pressure through negative comparisons, negative feedback or lack of consideration of learning needs and learning styles. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.
THE RIGHT TO RESPECT / FAIR TREATMENT: Students are expected to exhibit respect for the class, the instructor, and the participants in the class. Basic respect is fundamental to creating workable, positive, cooperative and safe learning communities. It is also crucial the instructor, in all contexts, be consciously aware of how they model respect and civility to their students. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.
Recording these classes is not permitted unless given written permission from McCayla Groski. If a recording of the class is permitted, McCayla Groski is required to review the content before the content may be distributed. After review of the recording, McCayla Groski reserves the right to refuse the distribution of a recording. As the owner of the content, McCayla Groski reserves the right to require you to delete the recording at any time, for any reason, and is not required to provide a reason. If a recording is permitted, the recording may only be distributed to those who have been approved by McCayla Groski. If a recording has been permitted, the recording may only be available for 2 weeks to the permitted individuals. If a recording is permitted, the individuals who are permitted to receive the video will be invoiced for the class regardless of whether or not they watch the video or complete the canvas. After two weeks, the recording must be deleted and removed from any streaming sites. By acknowledging and accepting this policy you have agreed to these terms and conditions. Failure to acknowledge and accept this policy means you do not have permission to record or distribute recordings of any virtual painting classes put on by McCayla Groski, owner of Selcouth Artistry.
If you cannot attend, contact McCayla as soon as possible. Refunds will not be issued, rather you will be allowed to transfer your enrollment to a future class.
In the event that less than 5 people sign up, I will notify you of the cancellation. At that time you will have the option to cover the minimum cost to hold the class, or we will cancel the class and you'll be welcome to attend a future class!
McCayla Groski is NOT liable for any damages, injuries, or loss of personal property that may result in the participation of this class.
Face Painting - Liability Statement
Selcouth Artistry will not accept responsibility for allergic reactions to paint or glitter. Client’s with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate or ask for a patch test on the arm before painting the client’s face. We will not paint anyone who is or appears to be sick or suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, ringworm, sunburn, eczema, any infectious skin condition or open wound. All face paints are water-based, making them as easy to take off although due to some high pigment content some colors may temporarily stain. Selcouth Artistry will not accept responsibility for any injury caused while painting faces or as a result of a painted face. Selcouth Artistry will work diligently and carefully to avoid injury while painting. Clients must indicate any areas they do not want their face painted. Parents must indicate any areas of the face where they do not wish their child to be painted on (for example, around the eyes). Clients, or parents of clients, must also inform us if they do not wish to have glitter on their face. All face painting equipment will be disinfected after every use for sanitary reasons.
If a client begins to experience an allergic reaction to the face paint, Selcouth Artistry will immediately remove all face paint from the skin with a hypo-allergenic wet wipe, and contact the parents if the client is under 18 to inform them of the reaction. Reactions to face paint may consist of the following; itchy skin, red hot face, red watering eyes, red rash and/or swollen eyes, lips and face.
