Terms & Conditions for Selcouth Artistry Painting Classes

Respectful Classroom:

THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE: All students in Selcouth Artistry's painting classes reserve the right to physical and psychological safety. Inappropriate behaviors such as ‘putting others down’, ‘cheap shots’, unreasonable teasing, name-calling, excluding others on purpose, racist, sexist, homophobic behaviors or language take away someone’s right to feel safe and will not be tolerated. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.

THE RIGHT TO LEARN: Students have a right to learn without undue, unreasonable, and unfair distractions and diversions from others. Students also have a right to learn in a learning environment where their teacher does not create unnecessary anxiety or pressure through negative comparisons,  negative feedback or lack of consideration of learning needs and learning styles. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.

THE RIGHT TO RESPECT / FAIR TREATMENT: Students are expected to exhibit respect for the class, the instructor, and the participants in the class.  Basic respect is fundamental to creating workable, positive, cooperative and safe learning communities. It is also crucial the instructor, in all contexts, be consciously aware of how they model respect and civility to their students. Violators will be expelled from class and banned from future attendance
. McCayla Groski reserves the right to remove and ban anyone from class for any reason.

Face Painting - Liability Statement

Selcouth Artistry will not accept responsibility for allergic reactions to paint or glitter. Client’s with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either not participate or ask for a patch test on the arm before painting the client’s face. We will not paint anyone who is or appears to be sick or suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, ringworm, sunburn, eczema, any infectious skin condition or open wound. All face paints are water-based, making them as easy to take off although due to some high pigment content some colors may temporarily stain. Selcouth Artistry will not accept responsibility for any injury caused while painting faces or as a result of a painted face. Selcouth Artistry will work diligently and carefully to avoid injury while painting. Clients must indicate any areas they do not want their face painted. Parents must indicate any areas of the face where they do not wish their child to be painted on (for example, around the eyes). Clients, or parents of clients, must also inform us if they do not wish to have glitter on their face. All face painting equipment will be disinfected after every use for sanitary reasons.

Allergic reactions

If a client begins to experience an allergic reaction to the face paint, Selcouth Artistry will immediately remove all face paint from the skin with a hypo-allergenic wet wipe, and contact the parents if the client is under 18 to inform them of the reaction. Reactions to face paint may consist of the following; itchy skin, red hot face, red watering eyes, red rash and/or swollen eyes, lips and face.
